'Morning Bret and everyone. JP, hoping for momma to get better in no time. Heard good things about the movie, but also heard that they went over the top and at least strayed from the general atmosphere and character development. The Hobbit was the first full length book that I ever read and it got me HOOKED on reading.

afternoon Bret & the gang..Sad day here in Frognot. We had to put our last of a pair of Great Danes down this mourning. the 1st one was put down Dec. 1st, his brother lasted 21 days after him. They both had cancer that was bleeding and nothing could have saved them, I'll see them on the rainbow bridge some day

Momma is a bit under the weather today. Was up all night puking and hasn't really gotten any better, yet.

Just got back from grocery shopping and, after lunch, taking the boys to see The Hobbit. Supposed to be a good movie. I just hope that it keeps up with the book.
Hope she get feeling better before quick and no one else gets it.

Let me know how the Hobbit is

Sorry to hear that.....it's the time of year to feel our emotions freely but that's harsh ACGC.....
Took my two up the mountain and can see Teeka, the little one, is really feeling her age....but I'll buy a $#@ing motorcycle to take her up if it's just for 10 minutes for here to stumble around the top so she can 'be a part of' for a little longer....so I know how you feel......they should last as long as us.....

Picture of Andy doing a 36 spindle he truned from a pine 2X2 square stock. Long thinner pieces are more challenging they can start to chart and break on you. I keep the speed down around 400 RMPsClick image for larger version.

Looking good Bret, I still have egg cups I turned when I was over 25 years younger, you did a nice job of finishing it too.

I like the burl wood bowl. That's awesome.

One of these days, I'll get around to buying that lathe.

As I've said before, too many toys and not enough $$$.

Oh well, life is often what is happening while we're not paying attention, so I try to pay as much as I can to those that are most important.

Bret, The Hobbit was a cool movie with an ending that I still don't quite understand. I think that I'll have to load the book up on my Nook and read it to see if I can wrap my head around why Peter Jackson ended it the way that he did.
