Been a WILD weekend here.
Saturday was a 120 mile one way trip to fix my sister-in-law's furnace. Last season, her brother was out there and actually removed the plunger inside the gas valve for pilot gas shut-off. The gas valve would not shut off despite the pilot being out.
R.E. Michels didn't want to sell me a gas valve until I slammed a UA card, a CFC certification card and my 'trump card, my RSES CM certification card on the counter. They changed their minds pretty quickly, tripped over themselves to open me an account and sell me that gas valve.
Easy repair, hauled a$$ to get home and get up in the tree stand. Deer activity has been pretty good here and a cold snap just hit, so it was promising to be even better.
I had NO IDEA....
About an hour into my hunt and a 6 point came through to my left. PA has some funky antler restrictions so you need to be 100% certain of legality before shooting. I didn't shoot, but realized later than he was indeed a legal buck. No problem. Hang around and more deer come through.
About an hour after that a small family group came straight up the ridge line at me. They were moving fast but had no clue that I was there. I didn't even have time to get my phone out for a picture and the lead doe was 6 feet from the base of my tree. She finally caught my scent, snorted and ran off. Her yearling doe ran with her. The 3 point yearling that walked in with her stood in that same spot, 6-8 feet from the base of my tree, staring up at me trying to figure out just what I was.
Couple minutes of laughing at them and I no sooner get settled in and see another nice buck moving in from the south. OK, this one is a clear shooter and in a good spot.
A certain dummy draws down on him, puts the wrong sight pin on his chest and let's fly.

4 buck and a total of 7 deer in a matter of 4 hours.
I'm thinking that this is my year....

My middle daughter's boyfriend got a little meat for the freezer this weekend too.....
Serena says great, I'll be butchering and wrapping meat all weekend after my shift of putting meat back together in the Trauma department of the hospital and 'wrapping' it.....

That one is about the size of the one that played "peek-a-boo" with me.
I'm going to try butchering my own this year. Having one butchered is EXPENSIVE! I paid $75 last year to have a 'standard cut' done.
I can buy a small grinder for about that price. We've got 4 tags this year and I've got an 11 year old who is positively itching to shoot his first deer.
Chop it up, grind it up and make either sausage or meat sticks/jerky out of it.

i thought all the big game migrated to the United States so they did not have to wait several years for a doctors appointment after they got shot?

Tell ya what, stinky.
If I go elk hunting out west, I'll stop in Kansas and buy it, sight-unseen if it's still for sale then.
Of course, you're looking at several years before I can put the cash together for even a self-guided western hunt.
Heck, it's 4-500 just for tags an licenses.

No we still got your hippies and democrats from the 70s and then again from the Bush reign ...... we're slowly weeding them out.....we can hunt them easy as they are the ones driving the 2 mpg hummers and escalades and exercising their constipational rights to use up as much of the planet as they want...not need, but want......God bless America!!!
FYI, we have the largest concentrated population of Eagles in the world here near the Whistler area......there's literally hundreds of them come in for the salmon spawn. We also have one of the largest big game guiding companies too for bear, deer, elk,, moose, caribou etc......mostly cause we still have them.......
They got tired of all the pollution, unaffordable healthcare, and trillions of dollars spent annually on electioneering by politicians to 'show how they could most effectively spend your tax payer's dollars for the people'..... Also with the gun laws in Canucksville vs the You Nice States of Murica......you have 1,233,433,987,009,248 less guns in Canada to shoot at them
