Moonrunner, they are testing you in case you have not figured it out. I do the same thing with a prospective tech. "Is he REALLY going to be the guy to finish the last triple check before driving out?...Is he really going to be the guy that takes a continued and keen interest in HIS career or does he just want us to hand it to him"? I always give a guy a 'task/upgrade/measure' to do and that delineates whether he's a 'ride-along' or a leader and not going to get the company into a lawsuit down the road with a "$hit happens" statement.

Well made it down to the You Nice States of Murica yesterday AND back. Started a little rough though.....had to show the pilot who's got a million hours on Vulcans and 747s how to jump start the Cessna......killed the battery on one engine. Then we got kicked off the Customs ramp at Boeing Field as we found out Michelle Obama was in town doing some shopping......nice....767 for a shopping car...phew.....glad you guys are paying the ticket on that baby and the 20 SS guys......(they get real suspicious when you glare at them). Then we take off to Brewster and with no Nav warnings/alerts, they close the runway at Brewster. Some roadway crack fillers just about had a Cessna for a (@%#ing hood ornament. We re-routed to Chelan 'bout 30 miles away. I got a little stick time too coming from Boeing Field back to Victoria over the water.....PITA trying to keep the compass straight over water.....no landmarks. I cheated and watched the brand new Garmin.....is that a sweet toy....beats as DRSA by about a million miles...
Not sure Art if you have flown over the Cascades......frickin' gorgeous and rugged.....glad we didn't have to ditch there.....not a flat spot anywhere.

Hey Doug, I figured as much, so I'll make the extra effort to pick up on as much as I can before calling them back. Not too many non-union shops do this scope of work over here. The manager mentioned that he liked how much homework I already did and then asked me what I knew about VFD's.. Had I demonstrated some knowledge of that, I'm sure he would have asked me if I knew about something else until we came up on a topic I couldn't say much about Looks like your trip was a blast and I hope it also brings some good news from the business perspective.
