They don't have gravel pits or abandoned junkyards up there? Is having a range membership a requirement to have a place to shoot?
Thanks. I got in, and so did every walkin but it got a little tight. They'll be turning people away next time around as the hunting season is coming up. For shooting most long guns, I can shoot on Crown land but conservation officers or the Ontario provincial police might hassle me if I don't have a hunting licence even with a target stand up there (made one out of ABS, breaks apart and fits in a gym bag)

Overpopulated in South Ontario and to get anywhere (Crown land or reserve) up north is like 2hrs drive minimum. Range is like 30mi, straight shot across on the highway. Can also shoot indoors and got heat.

'Mornin Bret and everyone.. Pics of Sarah have been pulled by whoever was hosting them. Somebody will have to have locally saved copies and re-post them on a hosting site. I concur with Doug that this is a most serious matter that must be attended to immediately for the good of us all

    JP.....I'm disappointed.....
No hearing protection on you and you in the HVAC trade should know better. You got boys. Yer gonna need a 6" outlet (depending on equivalent length ductwork static pressure drop) with a backward inclined fan coupled to an explosion proof motor!!!

    HUH??? I'm sorry, I can't hear ya.....

My ears are shot, and it was a wet saw. I was wearing eyes until he came over to help. He is wearing mine. His eyes are more important than mine are.

The rental was $85 for the drill and the bit. Would have been cheaper, but I had a service call and couldn't return it before the rental place closed. Probably about half of that cost had I been able to return it.

Aaron has a pretty nice beard going for being 11, doesn't he???

I'm somewhat torn on the idea of my boys going into the trades.

Yes, the trade has been good to me. It supports my family as a sole wage earner (my wife stays home) and it allows us to buy a few extras from time to time.

That said, it has not been at all kind to my body.

Besides the aforementioned hearing damage, most of which took place before I ever thought of using hearing protection, I've got knee and shoulder problems, back problems, a hernia that was repaired 2 years ago this fall and I'm only 37 years old. Not to mention exposure to asbestos and all of the other, wonderful, probably carcinogenic chemicals that we deal with on a regular basis.

If they decide that this is to be their career, I WILL train them and train them RIGHT, but I will urge them away from it as long as I can.

I'm going to be a crippled old man, long before I'm truly old and there is no amount of pay that can compensate for that fact.
