Replica civil war era sword from the recent Gettysburg trip.

I tried to "age" the brass hooks with ammonia, but they aren't real brass, so it didn't work...

Well, I had the on-call today, and not a peep out of the phone. So, all I could do is to sit around and pet Julie's favorite cat.

    Wish I'd had a call.

Damn....hard to believe it was almost 3 years ago that I was in those shoes.

Now my biggest problem is "Okay-Ive found whats wrong, now how to get this going for them until parts come in." I'd rather not just be a parts changer.

This is a good place to hang around. These guys have been there, done that, got the t-shirt.

If you're GTA try finding a 787 company. I have the list around here somewhere but just moved so I'd have to tear my place apart to find it. The Union is a good place for apprentices. They like to follow the rules, you'll learn a lot, and they have night schooling/home schooling. Plus youll make enough to survive where as most non-union (see also, residential shops in T.O) shops you'll be lucky to make ends meet.

If you got a question shoot me a message or ask it here. I drift in occasionally.

Is it a lappy or a desktop? Caught a virus? Fried mobo? Fried PSU? This is one area where I may be of some assistance (first job out of school was as a computer service tech lol)..

A couple of notes.. In servicing computers, being a parts changer is a good thing.. Parts are cheaper than labor. If your motherboard is fried, I wouldn't reuse the CPU or the RAM. If the CPU got fried, I don't know if I'd trust the mobo. If the RAM is fried, I might risk dropping in a couple of sticks. If it's completely dead, check if you're getting voltage out of the PSU. Loved getting those - was paid by the piece and they took under 5min to replace

One other stupid little thing.. Inspect the power cord. Had one that fried 2 PSU's on me. Thought it was just a bad PSU, replaced it, then the other blew. That's when I took the MM to the cord.
