Since the tort and other reforms went in place here in Texas, it has kind of surprised me how much of a discount you can get at a doctors office, or urgent care place, for paying cash at the time of service.

I have great insurance for serious stuff that requires hospitalization, but I pay out of pocket for minor stuff, which my employer then reimburses me for up to a certain $ value each year that I have to spend on such things.

As dysfunctional as our health care system can be, one thing I like is that if my doctor suspected I had something that needed an MRI, or other high tech imaging to detect/confirm, I can usually get the test the same day, or at worst, the next day, and start the treatment almost immediately...
If more government is the answer, then it's a really stupid question.

Yup....no problem at all right now with greed and lack of personal responsibility in either our own medical or financial positions/beds.....Goldman Sachs are wonderful people looking out for 'their client's best interest'....they were helping people with 'profit'....themselves!!
Look back in the thread Art when I argued that Tiger Woods was 'wrong' to make that kind of money despite a man made contract.....that God/Buddha/Nature/Allah...whatever would straighten it out......2 weeks after that entry.....he got the golf club treatment!!!!

Art, you astound me at times with your myopic views.....HTF you troubleshoot is beyond me......your mind is so GD slammed shut you couldn't wedge a nano particle in that thing...

Doug, you astound me that a guy as smart as you can act so dumb. Really.

Read back over what I wrote. I never mentioned Goldman Sachs. This isn't about them, who they look out for (should be their stockholders) or the cost of tea in China. Tiger Woods has nothing to do with this, either. His downfall had nothing to do with anything but his own unrepentant sin.

That's the downfall, my brother. Sin. That's why we need a savior. Instead of worrying about who makes a profit, you should be reading prophecy.

I think you are engaged in a classic case of "projection." Read up on it. You are saying MY mind is slammed shut, when in reality, it is yours that is closed.

Open up to God, bro. (paraphrasing) 'Remove the beam from your own eye, and you will see well enough to remove the speck from Goldman Sachs' eye.'

(Matthew 7:5, from the Sermon on the Mount)

    Here endeth the lesson.

You would not get that great care under the current mega bill known as Obamacare. It should be called Obama Rationing.

Or, you can go to Toronto, and get on a waiting list.....

    Glad to hear it.

A great way to show support for a cancer patient/survivor and also help the fight against cancer is to get a Luminaria in honor or in memory of someone who died of cancer. They are only $10, here is the link to the form forthe one we have a team (Cancer Crusher).

Going to the Relay for Life and walking the Silent Lap is quit moving. You can or to Find a Relay for Life in your area here the link http://www.relayforlife.org

    Aloha all.... (and et al)!
Hey Bret glad to see you had a great time at the relay .....
Art.... Fantastic news about Julie..... very happy to hear that.
Good to see some other "old" faces poking their heads back in the door.
Looking to move about 30 minutes from the beach for a lot less money a month. But thanks to the state government.... they screwed up my wifes child support check and now we will be 500 short until they cut her a new check. Still lookin at 1k to get the keys to the place. Been praying for the light and the wisdom to make all of this come together. (can you tell we hate this one room motel???) and today was called on account of rain and no work!! So there is 8 hrs shot out of the week. At least I get to spend it with my wife!
    Play nice now ya'll!
