I was worried, too. We were talking with a social worker about hospice and end of life care.

The good news is that the head of the oncology practice came in on Tuesday night and told her "You're not dying. How do you feel about resuming chemo on Wednesday?"

She has some oral antibiotics to take to get rid of the last vestiges of pneumonia, she got two units while she slept Tuesday over Wednesday (which helped bring back her strength) and right now, she is having something to eat at her brother's house.

So basically, she has come back from the edge. What a blessing.

"You know your chances of winning are the same as being mauled by a polar bear and a regular bear on the same day, right?".

I was thinking that people in parts of Canada may view those as encouraging odds of winning the lottery.
It's better than getting mauled by a hockey team!!!

I'm too old for that and the clean up takes far longer than the deed itself!!!

Yes. I consider it a close call. It gave all of us a "tune up."

I think she has a renewed desire to stand up to the disease, too, so this experience can have some hidden blessings, as well.

    Same, relieved even.

Your issues made me paranoid about a couple of small lesions on my left arm.
They turned out to be benign granulomas, but they could have turned into something worse if I had continued to ignore them.
Got a bit of a talking to about being over 40 and not having had a real checkup in >15 years too.
If more government is the answer, then it's a really stupid question.
