She's feeling pretty good now on a morphine drip. Tomorrow morning, she goes downstairs again for her new med port. It's a small metal device that is implanted under the skin, with a tube that connects to the Superior Verna Cava next to the heart, so that the chemo can get in quickly and easily.

She wants to stay in until Saturday. She's a nurse, so the docs are putty in her hands.

    More tomorrow.
Sounds pretty good Art.....tell her to get her money's worth...

    Evening update:

this morning, Julie's heart rate was discovered to have soared to 180 when the tech came in to take vitals. Down to intensive care, a 12 lead, and a dose of Adenosine to bring the rate down to 110. The cardiologists were baffled by this. Maybe some more tests will turn something up. The shoulder doc thinks it was due to blood loss and low h&h, which makes sense. She got two units this morning, and she has very little swelling around her new shoulder. They moved her from ICU to a telemetry monitoring room.

She's in pretty good spirits, too.

Heart rate went back up last night, so she's back on the monitor again. More info later.
