    Julie reports in for shoulder surgery today. She has a cardiac doc's clearnace to go ahead.

    Tomorrow, she gets a new med port for the new chemo course.

    Turns out, she had messed up her shoulder pretty bad. The doc got in there and said holy cow, what did she do? He removed all the bone fragments, and removed the top of the humerus and installed a replacement joint. Over two hours on the table. Yikes. Rehab time!

    She's feeling pretty good now on a morphine drip. Tomorrow morning, she goes downstairs again for her new med port. It's a small metal device that is implanted under the skin, with a tube that connects to the Superior Verna Cava next to the heart, so that the chemo can get in quickly and easily.

    She wants to stay in until Saturday. She's a nurse, so the docs are putty in her hands.

    More tomorrow.
