Aside from busting on frankie a little, I haven't said much in this thread for a while.

I've noticed something over the past couple of months.

I see a lot of people that I went to high school with; people who did better than I did in high school. People who went to college and graduated with degrees. These people have turned into the under-40, divorced and miserable about it, blaming everyone else for their problems, un employed or under employed, alcoholic crew.

I'm not sure I know where I fit in the grand scheme of things, but I'm damn glad some times that I was a high school screw-up, dropped out of college and took up my dad's offer to learn a trade.
    you also. eh?

    Ello again.

Doug, havent forgot about you, things were crazy the week before xmas since this is the first xmas without one of my uncles and since I was heading out west on xmas eve I had to try and get a fair bit of family time in before I left.

My xmas was good. Almost ruined by Air Canada though. Flight was supposed to be from Toronto to Vancouver in the early morning, connecting to Kamloops via a commuter plane.

Well. They seated two Asian men at the emergency wing exit. They did not speak a word of English. Trans Canada does not allow this. So they tried finding someone who does speak their language. The one oriental flight attendant didn't, so Air Canada had to FIND a person in the plane to translate and ask them to switch seats. So they did. We get airborne, 40 minutes behind schedule (and I have a 1 hour layover) and I sleep for half the flight. Get to roughly one hour left in the flight and realize that by the time we land my connection will have left. So we land and I run like the wind only to find that in fact has. The best they could do for me was the last flight out to Kamloops (its 11am local time, this flight wasn't until 10pm). They said they would put me on standby for the next two flights out that afternoon. First one comes in and is delayed by a mechanical problem. Second one-same thing. Its now about 6pm and the airline made me an offer of flying me to a town two hours away. My girlfriends family say they can get me so I take it. AND even in line to catch my new commuter flight, I start talking to a guy whos from that area and is coming home after working on the rigs in Alberta. He basically tells me he missed his connection and has been waiting a whole week on standby until today.

BC is beautiful. I can see why Doug hides out in the mountains. The rain isn't as half as bad as they made it out to be though lol. So I managed to make it in time for xmas. Spent the week until my bday (yep im 25 now....catching up to you grups fast lol) and then went back home.

Heh....even on the way back we almost missed our connection- 6 infants board a plane with a 5 infant capacity. One family had to leave the plane. We got there right as they were calling final boarding for our TO bound connection.

Moral of the story-never fly Air Canada lol.

Its a shame there isnt more work out there for my trade. The gf plans to go into paramedics and since Ontario has the best paramedic training, were going to stay here for a few years for her to get her training and two years in the field-enough to qualify to go into advanced care. Also for me to get the red seal. Weve talked loosely of moving out that way for the quality of life. But thats a bridge to far down the road to think about for now.

Well have a good one. Hope your holidays were well.

I do understand that you cannot take the approach I have recently taken, but I went through a bad bout of the self pitying about five months ago. What I wound up doing, and I do hope it is a right decision, is to fire my doctors, decrease the types of meds they have had me on and go at my health issues from a more natural and organic direction. I feel a lot better emotionally and physically, but I am sure when I do get my next check up, the docs will tell me how bad my health is again.

We already know that you take control of your medical issues yourself, so buck up and keep at it. Every day we are on the green side of the ground is a win.
