    I saw a post of yours on another thread. Good to see you reaching out. I hope that means you are feeling better.

    Several years ago I had shingles, in the face yet. I guess nobody dies of shingles, but I sure didn't live for about 6 weeks. Getting through the day and the pain took all of the energy that I had. It gave me a taste of what you have to deal with...without the threat of death.

    I recall a cadet at the academy who had it...Herpes Zoster. He never mentioned the pain part, but I'm sure he felt it.

    I hope he is taking the new meds that are available.

    There is a flock of antiviral drugs now in testing that could make things like this a part of the medical "past."
