As many of you know, I have a personal reason for hating cancer. One way to battle it is to not get it, and so every three years, I go and have an internal look-see. This means I can't eat today, so I will be enjoying a good amount of coffee.
Hermione at my local drugstore has provided the potion I must drink to make me an "empty man," so I will be here throughout the day.
I also know that many of you guys are over 45 and have never had this procedure, but let me tell you, this is considered to be the "gold standard" for one of the most easily stopped forms of cancer (colorectal) and it is a pretty easy thing, since they do it while you sleep. So, giving up food for a day and cleaning out inside is a small price to pay for your health.
So, if you have never been scoped, call your doc and get a referral, and get on track for the human version of video pipe inspection.
I'll get down off my cancer soapbox now, but as they say at that sneaker store, "just do it."

Actually this is scope exam number 5 since about year 2001... so I'm pretty sure it's going to come up clean.
I think that the the real risk is sometimes people don't actually wake up from general anesthesia. However, I feel confident leaving the outcome in the Lord's hands.
I will be finished the prep by tomorrow morning about 9 or 10 o'clock, so that will be a total of about 18 hours.
