It's more about a longer portion of the day being cold during their winters.. So the daily highs are still in the 20 degree ballpark, but the lows are in the 5 degree ballpark and stay in that range longer. Energy's 2-3 times more expensive than in Canada and these people don't know the meaning of "insulation". Here's a pretty good description of the local weather: https://weatherspark.com/averages/33...n-Region-Chile

I gotta start running either WAY north or south of the equator for "summers"
Eff this heat. Just say NO to heat and humidity.
They have refrigeration down there, right? If so, I'll find work.
I'll be on the next plane down.
We had about an hour of nice weather today, then that miserable sun came out and made things get hot and nasty.
Sorry to hear you're being taken off of treatments, even for a couple days, Bret.

Pennsytucky weather is so wonderful! I grew up there but I prefer the Texas climate. And now I'm moving back

'Morning Bret and everyone.. JP, mechanics don't get paid very well down here. The base hourly rate that goes to the shop is in the $20 ballpark, so even if you run your own shop, your margins are a lot slimmer. Might be different with ICI and most likely you'd be best off working in ports/terminals (they ship a lot of produce out of here). Skilled trades don't get the same recognition here that they do in Canada/US. Starts with the quality of the public education in Canada/US, which is a few cuts above what they have here. That's why most parents in Chile would choose skipping meals over condemning their kids to public schooling. Then, with our apprenticeship system, the actual education continues, especially if you work at a service-oriented shop. It changes your entire mindset and produces much more capable/respectable mechanics who take pride in their work. Skilled trades get some serious respect back home. Here.. Not so much.

31degrees here and no sign of relief......
I'll have to be early out on the bike tomorrow or Loki will die on the climb.....
Took Teeka, my older female dog that ripped up her ACL a couple days before Christmas then fixed/sutured 2 days later with forced no mobility for 6 months, up Cobble Hill this morning. Very slow up and down.....she's a little lame now but still mobile and VERY happy.......
Hey Bret.....did you pick them rubbers up yet? Or did Karen get wind of us? Them lady folk don't see the humour in that, do they? How old is Andy now, Bret?
