We got a total of maybe 5". Last night was the the "big deal" point of the Nor' Easter. Apparently, the Low moved eastward so much that most of the snow they said WE would get ended up in new Jersey and North.

So, I'll go out and run the snow blower for a half hour and call it done..

Well, (as I once told you) I am sick to death of death, so it is a real pleasure to see someone beat it. One of my friends from the academy went home to heaven just a few weeks ago, after a short fight with Pancreatic Cancer. That is one nasty form. But I still find miracles. In fact, I just saw yet ANOTHER miracle recently.

I have a friend who sits next to me in choir rehearsal. He does a lot of new construction. Back on Dec 12th, he fell 40 feet, and landed on concrete. He lay there for about an hour (they estimate) before he was found. It was the end of the day.

Now, most people would have been killed on impact, or die shortly after.

Not Kevin.

They flew him into U of P where he spent two weeks or so in the ICU. he had several operations. Pelvis, cranium, jaw, femur, and a few more, about which I don't have the details.

Before they moved him to a conventional room, he was passing a swallow test and holding his hand in a "thumbs up." Two weeks later, they had him taking liquid food by mouth, and by mid-January, he was free of all tubes.

Most survivors who take a dive like that would have the intellectual capacity of a potted plant. Not Kevin. He is surpassing all expectations.

So, Kevin not only cheated death, he kicked its a$$, just like you managed to kick cancer's a$$. Well Done!!!

As a believer, I already know that sin and death have been conquered for us, and I relish the idea that there is a time coming when we will all be changed, and become the beneficiaries of that victory.

Even so, I like a good preview, and you and Kevin are good evidence of the miracles to come. I am so thankful for that.

These things are just a glimpse of the wonders that are to come. It's big stuff. Bigger than we can imagine.

But, I'm ready. I hope you and everyone else are prepared, too.

I'll tell you something I find very pertinent. We have all seen the events happening in Syria and Iraq.

Years ago, I learned of a verse in Revelation that was difficult to imagine, because it seemed to be from an act undertaken centuries ago, such as during the French Revolution, when the Guillotine was used for executions.

This is the verse:

⁴ And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

I thought to myself, "who would want to behead someone, when they could just shoot them?'

Well, today we have an answer, and it is being done by those who reject Him. Even now, prophecy is being fulfilled.

Hi Guys.
I had a conversation with Brett earlier and he asked that I post this......
It is with great concern and regret that I inform you all on this thread that it appears as though Brett's cancer has returned.
He has had bad abdominal pain of late and they did a series of tests and found that he has a mass on his liver. They are going to do tests and decide quickly on a course of actions tomorrow (Monday) and even Brett does not know all the combinations and permutations of what can and should be done as even with him keeping himself up to date on this nasty disease, they have many new and progressive treatments available. He (or Karen) will inform me tomorrow. I'll post to this (his) thread as soon as I can.

Thanks for the update, Doug. I'm sure a great number of folks here will pray for Bret.

I am encouraged to learn of the new treatments that are available for various forms of cancer. I think the most interesting is the taking of genetic material from the rogue cells and using it to create a specific attack on those same, individualized cells. Anything that takes the tumor and uses its own attributes to cause its demise instead of the demise of the host is simply amazing.

Keep us up to date if you can, and I will do what I can from this end.
