Had to shuffle some shelving around, but the worst of that work was done. Just had to arrange it to my tastes.
I think I had a total of 12-16 hours into the whole swap. Boss offered me 4 hours pay for it.
I'm not complaining because it is the first time I've ever been offered anything to give up a weekend to swap a van out.
Got both boys riding with me lately. Rides are shorter and tend to be slower, but we're having a blast.
Evening all
Going to have to run to the red line till Monday when Andy track"s in I think And Saturday have a few folk coming over to help rough a bunch of large Maple.
Not as bad as Karen has it though Since Mid July with the exception of last week's vacation she's in the office at 7 am home at 1 am or 2 am most every Sat and Sun 9 am till around 9 or 10 pm look like not much break till around end of Sept. I loved her answer when she was ask why would she when she get's paid 40 no matter what her answer is "dedication and old fashion work ethic".

Well the friends well had over yesterday to help cut the logs in to blanks were great . When they got here they all thought it was just cutting sections.
you
They found out the it is the begin of the turning process . with a big diameter lay out the cuts to get the best blank considering the flow and of the coloring grain and it stress point. Cutting the pith (center)out to prevent stress cranking when drying many blank out making every inch count. Seal the end grain and stack and rack them for the lest space yet right airflow.
I told them it's like a butcher carving a cow up.
I laid out all the cuts, Everyone did great with Andy telling them what they need to doing. At one point I was told to go in and rest Andy had it under control all me to do was lay out the cuts. I must have taught him right
IMO you get a MUCH better look piece in the end when you start with the logs and make your own blanks.

Always carry 'metallic' packaged energy bars…..they are great for sealing a side wall blow out. Just tuck them into the tire with a new tube and they'll hold for another 40 miles.
You'll gradually get to the point of using only Maxis, Continental, Kenda or Schwalbe tires……it's virtually impossible to puncture their sidewalls. Their triple durometer compound rock on wet rocks and roots….sticky, sticky…..
