'Afternoon Bret and everyone. Wow, we went above freezing today! Might even be able to get outta the driveway on first try lol (the property has a gravel driveway and a steep incline - the snowblower set high so it doesn't blow rocks onto the lawns).
Good morning, Bret and everyone.
Good weather for a long run today!!

Good morning, Bret and everyone!
Really feeling yesterday's run. Because of the recent snow and ice, I have to play catch-up.

'Evening Bret and everyone. We had ourselves a nice ice storm here.. Downed trees, power outages.. I avoided a potentially nasty one. First time I ever needed to lay down sand this far south (was a regular thing while I was living about 300mi north of here), but I smelled it on time and stocked up before it flew off the skids.

mourning Bret & all...buuuurrrrrrrr. It's cold for sure but it is winter. Hope everyone up yonder are doing well with this ice & snow & cold. And here I'm complaining about a little engine. Well basically it's 1/3 way done. Just need a special tool to take off the fuel line which we'll conquer today. Hubby is just not use to working with a woman as I am. He has forgotten that I'm the type that loves to do these sort of things. I was a machinist when he meet me and I guess he forgot that I have been through allot more than tearing down an engine. Any who I'll have pic's of it soon. OH !!
MERRY CHRISTMAS All !!!

The Ford fuel line tool is widely available. It's the same connector as the famously leaky Ford AC line connectors, using two O rings and a garter spring.

What were the symptoms? Did it start? Crank? Try to fire? Misfire?
Just from the pics, I am not impressed with the level of engine maintenance. Those intake runners look awful. My guess is that the injectors were never serviced and the throttle body is atrocious.
How many miles are on the odometer?
Have you checked compression?
Here is what I would be doing:
Drain the oil and look in it for anything unusual, such as small bits of metal, antifreeze, etc.
Install a new fuel filter and check pressure and volume at the fuel rail. Check the spec for fuel pressure, AND the pump should move a minimum of a pint of fuel in 30 seconds. I used to use a pyrex measuring cup for this, because I could look at the fuel, too.
Compression check first.
Then, a cylinder leakdown test. There is a specific tool for this. You set the piston of each cylinder at TDC one at a time and pressurize it, and see how much pressure is lost, and how fast. Then, if there is a fast leakdown, you determine if you can hear it in the exhaust, intake, or crankcase. I used an electronic "big ear" for those tests.
Finally, I have a CO2 tester, which is a device that samples air from the radiator or coolant reservoir, and it contains a liquid which changes color from blue to green in the presence of CO2. This is my telltale for head gasket and crack issues.
With more info, I can offer more help.
