    dug

    january is my busiest month!

    for several reasons

one of them being that is when all the refer stuff, small refer stuff screws up
the other obviously chiller maintenance and tear downs

    the other boiler season

the biggest reason that is when you get all those HOT calls economizer issues and especially frozen pneumatic calls.

    and many other reasons

On the other hand I tell the guys that want to work for me, if you want to work 8-4:30, never take tech documents home nor upgrade your training or get onto the internet (this site is a prerequisite) and 'immerse yourself into your career' then you are working at the wrong place. I have no problem if you want to be a 'filter changer' but I get too bored doing linesets for A/A heat pumps thus I 'dig into crazy/interesting $hit' and 'expect the same from my crew so we stay away from low paying TPT jobs.
My advice, FWIW, is ask your boss if he want's his company represented by you or by Mr. DeSubCool. Because if it's both, that'll be impossible unless he's paying you another $15/hr 'babysitting' bonus. If THAT is not acceptable, then maybe it's time JPSmith Refrigeration was started.....
If your principles are compromised so much that your are now effectively a whore to the $.......or your boss, lazy a$$ed coworkers or God forbid yourself....you've gone to the dark side......can we say Wall Street???!!!!

I'd really like to hear what TB, Frank and Bret have to say on this......

In the middle of the picture it says "DESUBCOOLING" or desubcooler, I'm not 100% sure which.

I've been trying to figure out what a desubcooler is and why one would pay money to have one installed on a piece of refrigeration equipment.

Maybe that's why I'm not worth union rates.

    YEP.

    Hey,

Ray is looking to get into refer work.

Maybe we can open a branch in Canada.

Doug, is metric refrigeration any different than it is here in the states. Those other units on the DRSA scare and confuse me so I don't use them.

    DESUBCOOLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    yeah!

i noticed your net refrigeration effect was too high!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you had too much subcooling so i am going to add a small hot gas bypass/heater on the liquid line right before the exv!

    that should do ya?

There was a show in Canada that had a goof Canuck reporter (Rick Mercer) going down to the USA and asking them specific questions about Canada to illustrate how ignorant Muricans are 'bout Canucks.....
Questions like 'did you hear they are starting the seal kill/harvest up in Saskatchewan again?' and the other killer was that 'Canada is going to the metric work week.....10 days...8 days of work and 2 days of weekend coupled with the 10 hr workday in 20 hours/day. The Muricans thought we were barbaric in the way we treated our workers....!!!!

The only difference is temps are usually called in degC but the pressures and BTUS still in English. Problem is all the world is SI and the USA was looking at metric system....for instance SI is Joules..Metric is Calories....SI is kPa (kilo Pascals) and Metric is Kg/cm2
