i do not feel so bad because!

22 years ago my official training went like this!

    1. ride with this guy for a day, he is really smart! "beer can cold and sweating "

    2. ride with this guy for a day he is really smart! "ambient plus 30"

    3. DAY 3! do you feel like you are good enough to do this on your own? "YES"

    4. DAY 4! after lunch, here is your truck! go get the parts you need! WHAT PARTS???

    5. sell a lot of new air conditioners! because I do not know how to troubleshoot them!

6 go to alot of RSES meetings, buy alot of books,

7 spend literally thousands of hours reading formentioned books!!

    8. ask as many questions as i can!

    9. read lots of books!

Sounds a bit like the training that I got. Lots of 'rules of thumb'

    Mine just lasted longer.

I rode along for 18 months and then was put in a truck.

Noobs now get a week then get turned out on PMs. It's SAD, SAD, SAD.

It has taken stumbling across this site and RSES to really launch my education.

Funny. When I signed in here, I thought I would be the guy that solved everyone's problems...

Now I realize that I'm just another dummy, running around and trying to make the best of things.

I've got NOTHING on some of the folks that hang out here.

4600v is too many zeroes for me.

460 is scary enough. I've been hit a couple of times. Once hard enough to knock me down and make me take serious stock of the decisions that I had made to bring me to that compressor room on that particular day.

Somehow, I doubt that you get too many second chances with 4600v.

well i actually meant to type 4160 but anyhow! you are correct !

    10 times as much pressure!

if you were working with 40 psi of air pressure and got hit in the eye!!! ouch!!!!!!!!!!1

if you got hit in the eye with 400 psi of air?? good bye eye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the arc flash that blew the panels off the switch gear that i did was far away from me and did not hurt anybody!!

but sometimes you are not that lucky????

On the old Reading Company terrotory, our highest feed (non-traction) was 4400. Pretty nasty stuff.
