OK don't get me started on this issues.
Guys taking 12 hours to do a 6 to 8 hour job, milking it. GET OFF THE PHONE OR I-PAD AND unless it is related to work. If your waiting then, clean your van, check the fluids, do and recheck your paper work. If you want to be on the phone or I pad then be checking with your next or next few customer(s). Make some call on parts and Pricing you need or might need call and try to generate sells .......... If the Job is bid for 40 hours and you know you can do it in 20 then DON"T milk it. If your milking it or just being lazy all or most of the time them your stealing. If it was your company would you be OK with your guys doing this to you???? If you want me to work hard pay me more, Why you just said you have no work ethic.

I agree with you Bret.......and AFTER the jobs come in on time/below time, I buy Hawaiian trips, Disneyland trips, bonuses etc BUT ...... if you said what you just did face to face, they'd all quit......speaking from personal experience. On the other hand after they go home early, book off on the clock for Drs., dentists, lawyer, accountant meetings......not even to mention the incessant texting, emailing and phoning 'momma'.....I had one go on for two days about how he was 'ripped off' for $3.00 from his car dealer/service tech for filling up the windshield antifreeze and charging him the $3.00 when it was in for it's scheduled service when he could have done if for less than $1.50!!!!!!
Now I gotta get back to work before Brenda slaps me around.........come to think of it......that might be kinda fun...

Of course, there are some bosses that inadvertently TRAIN their guys to milk a job, when they assign a job that could be done in four hours by any reasonable tech, and then they assign it to a tech as his full day's work. I'm a guy that likes to fly though the day on afterburners, getting 10 hours work done in 8, but there has to be that work being assigned. For example, I was assigned NOTHING today, which is why I may have to move out to KC and work with Frank. He works for a great Co and has a great boss, and I've talked to that boss on the phone. Right now, I'm assembling recommendations from some clients for him. So, I do agree with being irritated when guys "dog" a job, especially when I have to take up their slack!!

By the way, if this is a fuzzy brain day, let me tell you that it does not show in your post. I had no trouble getting it.

Spent yesterday working my way through 16 hours of CEU info to renew my flight instructor certificates. It's a task I take on every two years. I worked too hard and spent waaaay too much money to let it lapse.

Nothing yet on the CM test. They must have taken off for Easter at RSES....

Took a short ride down the powerlines last night and ran into an idiot who had buried his truck to the bumpers in the mud.

When we got back to the house, I loaded up a come-along and some straps and chains to go and help them out, but they'd already managed to get themselves dug out.

Maybe taking a bigger ride today.

I took mine out yesterday with the kid, was out on the trails covered in snow and the motor locked up, no warnings just clacked for a second then stalled. I fired it back up and it then locked up after a second.

Ugh!!!

Been wrestling with carb trouble with mine.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm no engine mechanic, so I'm not tearing it out and trying to clean it. I'll pay someone first.

A friend suggested SeaFoam to clean it up. I mixed a half-pint of SeaFoam into about a gallon of gasoline, drained the tank and ran it on that for about a half-hour, occasionally revving the engine up

I wasn't very confident that it would work, but it did. Engine runs like a champ, now.

Seafoam is some great stuff, I have had success with It but I also have been working on motors since 12 or so. I will usually get into them but if it's a 4 stroke I get the parts and bring it to my brother, I have rebuilt them but he is a mechanic so I let him deal with it. I'm going to tear mine down, I'm kind of hoping the starter broke and locked it up because It will turn over some and still feels like it has compression. I was planning a ride today to which sucks.

Yeah, I talked to the guy who did that and he told me ALL about that feeling.

Yep been there! I'n upper mi that's what we call a good day! I'd dump the oil and trans fluid to be safe too. Maybe a sea foam regiment again lol

Soft, flabby muscles aren't up to serious trail riding.

Tried it, failed pretty miserably, working on flatter terrain or now.

'Afternoon Bret and everyone. Yesterday was a blast. Took a new shooter out to check out the facilities, also narrowed down the scope problems to either shooter error or the cap getting hit by ejected casings (modified the ejector port to go sideways-forwards, but I've seen one going straight up) or shooter error. When shooting carefully, off a sandbag, I was getting reasonable 4-5MOA groups (perfectly fine for that gun, even ahead of the curve by a tiny bit). Met a couple of guys there and we did a bit of gun-swapping. They had a blast with the el-cheapo red dot I mounted on the SKS and also with the accutrigger on my Mk II G and one of them brought his XCR in .308 - sexxxxay

I've had great experience with Sea Foam in seasonal engines where the carbs may or may not need a cleaning. If they're a bit dubious, I just gave them the shock treatment.

1) Run the tank almost dry, pour half a bottle in there
2) Run the engine until the white smoke starts coming out and then vary the rpm's from idle to redline for about 5min
3) Leave overnight
4) In the AM, pour the rest of the bottle and fill up with gas, run through the entire tank, again, varrying the RPM's (easy to do on motorcycles/atv's, just go on a ride lol)
5) Fill up normally and there should be a major improvement in how the engine runs

In order to avoid that, I stabilize my fuel with Sea Foam in the off-season, and run about 1/3 bottle every couple of months.
