    that was some thing impressive when you learn how much skill it took to land that thing in one piece.

    I thought it was interesting that there was no checklist for a low-level loss of engines, and that using the checklist that was intended for engine loss at FL350 did not allow them time to get to the "press the ditch switch" command.

    I'll bet that switch will take on new importance in the A330 training and type rating.

    I can't say that I would have been very concerned with a nose up angle of 11 degrees, only that I had enough airspeed to prevent a wing stall until I was within 10 feet of the water, and I could get my tail on the water surface. Sully did a pretty good job of doing that, and my guess is he never thought about the 11 degrees, either!

    Heck... EVEN B.E.E. school (basic electricity and electronics) books were good.
