Frank, as long as we can talk each other's ear off, we won't be facing the problems that some of our friends have. It's a great stress reliever.

By the way, that guy I told you about that dropped off his truck on a Sunday while the boss was at church, and started his new job the next day, and then was fired three days later for lying on his Res?

He will not be invited back, I just learned. No surprise there, right?

Makes you wonder what makes some guys tick. WT* was he thinking?

I feel so normal when I hear about this stuff.

    Art,
sometimes I think I a in a third dimension looking in from the outside just shaking my head!

we just had a guy that borrowed $2500 from the boss to put in a system for his sick grandma. Then took a few days off work to put the system in and help his poor grandma.
The boss liked the guy and would have just donated it to him, except the company lost its behind this year on a huge job!
He the guy from work is a cool guy and I like him alot! Fun to work with and smart! well? maybe not sooo smart?? the guy takes his service van in to get some work done, then gets a loaner truck from the shop.
The boss picks his service van up from the auto mechanic, he sees a ticket book and picks it up and reads it.
It is a receipt for the exact system the boss got him and dated the days he took off work. The bottom says $6,800 paid by check! ^%**&^ heating & cooling!
This guy had a great job, great pay and great benefits! HAD!
Boss emptied his truck out gave him a ride home and told him he needed to send in the$2,500 within a week and also held his entire check!
Also filed a grievance with the hall!

hello my good metrosexual limp wristed canuck friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Do you think most guys do side jobs?
do you think they do a few a year?
do you think when they do, they use your truck, gas and or some of your material?
I think that a lot of guys do side work!
I have been doing this for 26 years, I have done two side jobs, both I did for good friends and both I traded labor for, no profit!
I did use the company truck both times and told the boss both times!
He said to put 20 bucks in the tank!

What this guy did was dishonest and he really took advantage of a pretty decent guy!

As a business owner, how do you feel about the side work?
would it be okay if the guy approached you with it first?

    just curious?

    Julie,
Helen says hello and happy new year!
I think about you all the time and hope you have a happy 2011!
I told Art that I could have got him on at work but did not want to leave you alone in chocolate town!
He said you would come out to Kansas with him!
I am assuming you have NEVER been here!
