I wish that we'd have taken the second part of that advise 10 years ago.

We are just now getting into a savings mode after spending more than we made for several years.

We've gotten the debt cleared and are now starting to 'live within our means'.

Next step is to start living beneath our means and we'll be doing fine.

we haven't had a credit card bill in years............... just keep buying too much crap.
had to buy 2 pc's recently.

I traded some underground work for my shop for labor to install res system!

he said he was selling and wanted CHEAP!
I installed comfortmaker HP

I replaced the honeywell DUMB valve 6 or 7 times and the muffler blew up out at the HP
Replaced the cap a couple times and stat once.
i think within the first year warr I went out there over a dozen times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heck, I'd open up a 'phone-a-tech' line and take calls at $3.95 a minute to talk hacks through fixing stuff if I had to.

About the only other thing I'm cut out for is teaching.

I think I'd like to do that at some point down the road.

i'd like that option...........however, i'm union, don't know the ins at the hall, and private teaching would jepordize my bennys

I can not teach at the training center cus I did not go through their little program!
They hate me because I am not in their club!

I can not teach non union, against the rules!

I do not know if you can teach non union once you are retired?

I would like to teach or open a school in the inner city!

if you send in 1 extra principle payment a year on a 30 year, supoosedly that makes it a 23 year loan.
i've been doing real good the past 3 years.............. don't see the numbers dropping as fast as i like.

We just pissed off a bunch of CC companies.

We had been carrying balances for years. Knowing it was the wrong thing to do, but not having the money to fix it. Just paying what we could afford to pay, always over the minimum, but never paying off.

We hit a windfall that I think I mentioned a few months ago with the gas and oil rights on some property that we own.

That paid off all of our CC debt, paid off my truck, and gave us a bit to save for an upcoming bill we can't avoid. We will have to tie into public sewage within 18 months.

After we paid them off, we cancelled all but one or two cards.

I think that we kept the Lowes card for home improvement projects and another card for emergencies and internet purchases.

All other cards are GONE.

I am 100% sure of that!

i don't think that the younger folk really want to embark on the journey that we all undertook to get where we are in this buisness.
that statement goes across the color lines. young people in general don't want to spend the effort and make the sacrafice.

HTF can that happen......taking an experienced guy and allowing him to impart his knowledge into 'up an comers' is in their best interest......are they all so stupid they can't see this......
