Another thought that occurs to me would be a restricted piston or bad TXV.

Nothing wrong with being rusty. 2 years is a long time.

The numbers you gave are missing one very important piece of information, what was indoor wet bulb temp? with that you could determine what the target S/H should be.
I agree that it probably is a little low on charge, if nothing has been done to it in the nine years I would first check that Coil is clean, blower wheel is clean and then recharge unit, probably a piston metering system so S/H is the important number.
Good luck and glad to see you are getting to work on a unit, be careful and do not hurt yourself.

With 10 SC, you have liquid available at the metering device, so your SH should be lower. I'd expect a restriction before the evap, like a clogged dryer, orifice, or a closed txv.

    Good morning, Bret and everyone.

That's where having a man-cave kicks in.. While they're watching 'Pride and Prejudice' and eating chocolate chip ice cream, you're watching 'Sinners and Saints' and eating chips and jerky

Good point... Baked beans with onions for breakfast, lunch and dinner, 3 days straight before the event

This stuff will prevent any estrogen invasions of your man-cave http://www.bigoven.com/recipe/174789...eans-prebranac (2 suggestions: replace olive oil with lard and throw some semi-cooked Italian sausages into the mix before putting the whole shabang in the oven)
