The first law of thermodynamics, an expression of the principle of conservation of energy, states that energy can be transformed (changed from one form to another), but cannot be created or destroyed.

We were granted the position in designing the GeoExchange System and directing the Mech Eng. on the Brentwood College School's new Dining Hall here at home. We had built the first 'Ocean Coupled' system about 8 years before and with this building we got them to put in a 40' X 4'W X 8'D gray water heat recovery pit. We then connected that to 6 heat pumps that are our own design that heat domestic hot water up to 170 degF. It is the the first of their kind and we used 404a scrolls running on another refrigerant.

We only have one problem....we are recycling TOO much heat. We have to dump to the building loop/campus loop/ocean loop probably twice a day.....

The building should save approx. $150,000/yr in energy and pay for the $1M ocean loop infrastructure in 5-6 years....

I knew that Doug and I had things we could agree on.

Pretty cool, pulling heat out of the ocean. Neat!

Frank, BC is a province. My dad was born in New Westminster.

As to the difference between a province and a territory, it probably goes back a while to when the territory was not a fully "settled" area.

I'll bet a territory is treated as a province, today.

    Am I right, Doug?

    Google is your friend:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Provinc...ries_of_Canada

It all boils down to our Confederation.

You could say that a Province is like a state in that different Provinces have different Provincial laws and different States have different State laws. But both ultimately answer to the Federal Government.
