    MR,
I quit drinkin' that stuff almost 25 years ago.......just before my last prison bit...it got way to damaging drinkin'.....
Got all three daughters home here now.....could cut the estrogen with a knife in here.....I'll be WRONG pretty much all weekend now.......
Seriously....great to get 'em all home.....

Short funny story 'bout how stupid I am....
So Brenda was playing field hockey down at the the Velodrome in Victoria and I was watching....in January...cold as heck. So the other Cowichan team was playing afterwards and asked if Brenda would 'sub' in as they were short a player. All the other 'girls' pleaded with me standing their freezing my gonads off and said 'C'mon Doug you wouldn't mind staying another game would you"?......I answered "Yah, just what I wanna do, stand around this field for another hour and a half freezin my butt off watching a bunch of fat middle aged woman slog around a field hockey pitch in January"....Well guys the only thing that saved me at that velodrome was the fact that the 30 degree banked track was smooth wet cement with a 4' high steel railing as the 10 women came at me with their field hockey sticks on the other side......

Well had the computers down all week with no email and no notifications from here either....
Way to GO Elija......glad to hear......
Bret, you got a funny way of picking up the women......??
Art.....still not sure how your managing to put one foot in front of the other with your loss.....I am impressed and feel for you......keep at it and look for the 'next plan'....
Well, I've got all three daughters home the long weekend (July 1st-Canada Day) for a 100 year anniversary of Field Hockey in the Cowichan Valley so my wife is heading up the ceremonies/event. Serena got home on Wed and had me belly laughing in the office here about 5 minutes after she got here even though I was ready to kill two sub-trades and about 3 customers.....
Sooooo 3 daughters and my wife will be playing in this tournament all weekend. I've got Serena's bike (she claims my newest most expensive all carbon fiber bling, bling bike) ready for a ride.....like going biking with my best buddy....
Shaping up to be a good weekend......lotsa love and family time...... like the 12 promises.....

Oh by the way Art.....congratulations on the new Canadian Style medical.....'cept for the penalty for not paying your medical......we just pat you on the back here in Canucksvile when you've been bad or negligent and hand you some more money......or supply you with more excuses...
Thanks Doug, it seems that, for some, their dogs are as important as people. At least it is that way for me with this one, REALLY special.

It does remind me though, that we are at the age when more and more of us are going through these losses of loved ones. My dad in laws kidney cancer has now spread to his liver so more chemo.....final stage of palliative care soon, I suspect.

I do wish that people can look at the benefits of Universal HealthCare, as imperfect as it is, because one MAJOR benefit is being able to convalesce or morn a loved one without feeling the stress of a pending financial doom. To me somethings are more important than politics.

Doug, have fun on the mountain with the four legged friends (and 2 legged)

Doug, don't know what they are and am about to find out.. Ok, just did.. Gonna take the Fundamentals for sure, probably not the Safety/Sparkey stuff (almost exclusively overlap with what we just covered in trade school), no need for EPA as I already got my ODP.

Was originally planning on taking some night course at Humber once I got into a shop - to complement on the job experience, but I might need something extra to put on my resume before anyone takes me on, so for $150, I can did it. One of my classmates has a line on some good manufacturer t/s courses that I'll talk to him about in an hour or so.

Need any help guarding those cupcakes? I see all sorts of hooligans walking around there and the poor cupcakes need to be protected from 2 sides

Watch out and stay well-hydrated. That's what the family's for - help you along until you get better - so they better have lots of drinks and ice in stock or be pullin' outta the driveway to get some

    Hey, gang.

Back from a couple days at Boy Scout camp with the oldest boy. I hadn't exactly planned on going, but one of the adults that were there came up sick and I'm a sucker for Scout Camp.....

I am in AWE of just how much that boy, BOTH boys, really, have grown and matured in the past several years.

My 'little' boy is now 11 years old and, ON HIS OWN, didn't miss a class or event at camp for 5 days.

Makes a daddy get a little misty-eyed with pride....

After dinner, off to the range to play with Daddy's new toy...... Ruger MKIII

S-weet.. Now that I'm back to f/t hours (even if in the wrong profession lol), a little gun (shopping ) spree might be in order.. Thinkin' Mossy 715T flattop for cheap plinking in the woods and CZ 85 Combat for IDPA. <-- spoken like a true left-leaning liberal, eh?

JP, your sons are definitely lucky on that count. By the time I was old enough to hit the range, all my dad's M57's (TT-33 clones) were good for was collecting dust - the shift from socialism to "free market economy" took things from "pretty comfortable" to one mag representing his monthly salary as a senior geologist. They picked up since then, but by that time, I was already in Canada.
