    OK friend call tonight say his Girl friend's AC " been having trouble" so he call a large national company.
    here's the techs what the Trip sheet say's
    unit 9 year old split
    OA dry 93 OA wet 82
    IA 78
    Suction 53 Head 220
    SH 40 SC 10
    Fan 4.1 Comp 16.2
    Evp frozen.
    Unit low on charge coil has leak Unit needs replaced

    OK not much know about unit but with age I'm guessing its R22 based on age.

    I told My buddy "OK I'm very rusty but I think he full of BS"

    Comments PLEASE I'm that rust
    Head 220 suction 53 SH 40 SC 10 and he say LOW ON CHAGE

    Could possibly be low on charge.

    Did he actually use a leak detector to determine that the coil was leaking?

    I can understand the suction ans SH but what about the head and the SC?

    Head looks about normal for that kind of ambient.

    A piston MD might run a higher SC than a TEV unit.

    Given that and ASSUMING that the airflow was correct, I'd shoot a bit of gas in it and see what happened.

    I was thinking airflow

    But like I said I been out laid up for a good while. Going to go out at 5:30 am with his young son (mid 20s )

    see how I do.

    Low airflow would tend to give you a lower Superheat.

    High airflow would show up with high suction and high Superheat.
