Evening all..............
Well I skated yesterday and paid for it today. Ran 5 calls and the first three came within 15 minutes of the first at 1115.
last one was a destroyed blower wheel...... no can fix today!
second to last one was a bad dual cap for the heatpump....
third to last was ..... well.... interesting. 90oda, pressures 78/212, s/h 5, deltaTD 12. 2t trane hp on a 2t Ruud ahu/coil. electric heat was not on.
Supposedly when the last guy wen to bed last night he was the first up this am..... and he found the 2 lower levels tstat set on emerheat. placed it in cool.
called it in today. Well I get there its in cool and its cooling but not great.
So what did I do.... I recovered 1 lb R22. S/h shoulda been pprox 13 if not higher. FIgured wb was about 67. well I got the delta t up to about 14. It was still semi humid inside but it was getting better. I had pulled more than 1lb out.... but my s/h went to 24 so I put 6 oz back in and it was back to 5. added a tad bit more and got it at 14. touchy to say the least. told him to watch the tstat tonight cause someone could have gotten up in middle of night and accidently changed it. I left.
second call of my day was a pro5000 that was set to 2h2c conventional. Shoulda been 2h1c heatpump. was calling for electric heat off of y2. dumba$$es. someone had to have played with it. She had no problems with ac untill this weekend. (rental house).
First call was condensate leak in an equipment room.
Clogged primary drain.... not trap.... pri pan drain. clean that out and vacuumed out... check this out my new record......
57 gallons out of the return plenum!!! Couldnt believe it!
needless to say I had a day. Oh and got a call for 2 house up north... about 1 hr away at 10 pm.... told the guy sorry... we can be there tomorrow....
he said he had other people that could be there tonight. I said good!

superheat is good to save the compressor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
but who cares about the compressor if it is not cooling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you need 17-20 degree deltat or 55 degree discharge air or it will not cool!!

sh sc amp draw ambient plus 30 blah blah blah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
you need frikkkn 55 degree air dammmit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
slow the damm fan down get 55 degree air!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
then worry about the frikn compressor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if all you can get is 5 deg sh then oh well
it is not a huge recip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sell em a new compressor every few years!!

FCS, I am sorry to hear of your afflication. My father had a melanoma removed about 2 yrs. ago and has to go back to be checked every so often. My mother had breat cancer two yrs. ago and had to have surgery. She has gone through all the treatments and seems to be getting better. Dr. gives her the green light anyway. You are right, it sucks.
Hang in there and keep a positive outlook. I know everybody tells you this but it can't hurt.
Johns Hopkins recently sent out some ionformation to a friend of mine about what all you could do to aid in treatment and preventitive measures.
I don't know if they might have it posted on their web site or not.
Just a thought.

All was "fine" or "OK" Nothing to worry about, right?

Then he landed in the hospital and underwent a few procedures to shock his heart back into a proper rhythym.

Then he tells us all how poorly he was feeling before and how the doctors were going to implant a pacemaker and on and on and on.

So, not knowing anything about their medical conditions is nothing new to me. Actually, it is more the status quo.
