Howdy, gang.
Back to the grindstone today.
Took a couple days with the oldest boy at scout camp. He'll be back on Saturday, but dad has to go make the donuts... I'd much rather be in camp, still.
I've watched this young man (I really shouldn't call him a boy anymore) grow from a baby at 5 years old when he joined scouting to the budding young man that he is today, taking a strong role in leading the other scouts around him. Even some who are older than he is.
He has caught the eye of several older scouts and many of the adult leaders and will probably be attending a session of National Youth Leadership Training next year. This is the BSA's youth leadership training course. In fact, the man running the course wanted him to come this summer. Unfortunately, I'm only one income... I'll rationalize it by saying to myself that he'll get more out of it if he's a little older and more mature...

Bret, That's a great quote.
