I've never had anything that intense before. Just the usual dshs stuff, criminal and what not. I will say that all union shops have random drug testing. It kinda makes me nervous having a poppy seed bagel.

Heavy comm'l work takes a lot of individual initiative for learning & schooling that a lot of guys aren't diciplined for...............Jack O yeah , i almost forgot the ongoing war between union and non union guys too because the resentment of the non union guys over the way higher scale of the union guys get just walking in the door vs th n u guys that have to work for years just to get near the same pay and the n u guys always feel that they are better techs anyway.......
so i think we all agree.!!!!!!!!!!

If by agree you mean that guys at the bigger shops are better, then I agree.

    lol

I know plenty of guys who have worked at big shops and didn't like it because they were too big. They now work on really niche stuff like Turbocors and controls. So I guess they must really think they are awesome!

Hey Supertek65! I know what you mean. There is a guy in town that has a small refrigeration company (but way bigger than mine) and I always try to be nice to him and he usually talks to me but the other day at a training seminar he acted like he didn't even know me and it was because there were other guys around. What a dick. I will always try to be humble as long as the small guy doesn't try to act like he knows it all.

Not around here it doesn't... There's an $8-9/hr difference between DX and chiller work. And unless you work for a huge factory shop, your chances of ever earning the larger rate are slim to none... Unless you're in the club, that is.
