New System Configuration ?s
I am in the market to have my entire HVAC system replaced. I'm located in Redwood City, CA where the climate is supposedly best by government test. We have a few hot months, but it's not crazy hot.
What has been proposed for my single story, 1600 sq foot house is the following:
Bryant 355CAV 80,000 BTU gas furnace
Bryant 165ANA 3 ton, 15 SEER condensing unit
automatic zone dampers and zone control board
2 honeywell digital setback thermostats
new insulated duct work
Since the 355 is an Evolution model, should I go full Evolution with the stats and dampers?
Giving you a twilli like answer
I'd also want them to do a load calc, instead of guessing, or just replacing with the same size.
IF IT'S NOT BROKE, DON'T FIX IT.
A 15 SEER UNIT IS A GOOD ENERGY SAVER.
IT HAS BEEN MY EXPERIENCE THOUGH THAT WHEN YOU START ADDING DAMPERS AND THINGS, IT'S MOSTLY FOR SHOW AND OR BRAG. IT'S LIKE BUYING A CAR AND PUTTING ON RIMS AND THINGS THAT ARE REALLY JUST SHOW-OFF STUFF. THE CAR WOULD RUN FINE WITHOUT ALL THE ADD-ONS. SO JUST DO A SIMPLE PACKAGE AND SAVE YOURSELF A BUNCH OF MONEY.
