    recovery machines

I am switching over from commercial to residential. I was doing mostly 22 and now I need a machine that will do 410. what do you guys recommend? I don't plan on doing a large volume of business, sort of slowing down as I get older. Will probably be units under 10 pounds so large volume is not needed. Light weight would probably be a plus, and cost is a consideration. Looks like most are about $600 to $700. Thanks for any help on this. kevin

I highly recommend the appion G5 twin. It weighs about 23lbs and is nice and small. It recovers super fast and is rated for 410a. You can get a used one on ebay for about $300 or get a new one from a supply house for about $650. They are easily repaired in the field aswell.

check other threads on this board, still no change, appion G5 beats all others. They do have now a smaller model appion G1. I bet for residential it will be enough. http://www.appioninc.com/products/g1features.html

I like mine. It's noisy, but it moves a lot of refrigerant fast. Tech support said not to try to throttle the flow. It's designed to run full tilt. I'm not used to that, but I've recovered a few system with it so far, and it hasn't tripped the reset yet.

Can anyone tell me where the G5 is made?

I know the Reftec Diablo is made in the USA.

They are very comparable to one another, the choice may come down to where it was made. I am not supporting China anymore than I have to.

I'd never heard of the Diablo until reading this thread. OTOH, I'd never heard of the Appion G5 twin until reading a previous thread. Whether it's the best or not doesn't matter, it's what I have and it does a fine job.
