I know exactly the type of person this guy is.

I get calls once in a while where the customer's only reason for calling me out was to try to contract me personally to do their job on the side.

I had one guy, before I could speak up that I don't do side work; offer me $50 to install his mini-split.
I told him i don't get out of bed on a Saturday to work for less than $500!
He said "you don't want $50 cash for 2 hours of work?!!! LOL!!!!

It's not just homeowners that have no loyalty to a proven contractor.
Years ago we bid some restaurants for a G.C. that we had a proven track record with.
The jobs went to the low bidder
well the low bidder filed for bankruptcy protection.
The G.C. called us in a frenzy to save their a**
We were working our jobs during the day then going to their jobs at night to finish the work.
We charged them t&m but gave them a break just to promote good relationships.
Got all their jobs done and co'd
The original mechanical reorganized and reopened his doors
The very next job we bid for the G.C.
they gave the job to the original mechanical that left them high and dry
WHY????
because they were the low bidder
We have since put that G.C.'s name on our no bid list

we have a contractor like that he continues to call us we have bid on multiple jobs for him and then he turns around and gives our ideas on how to do the job to other hvac contractors to bid on and then takes the lowest bidder so we do all of the work and then he turns around and bids out our bid. we will not give this guy anymore help thats for sure!!!
