    Furnace location

Were in the process of building a new house and our HVAC contractor want to put the furnace in the crawl space. Is this a good idea? Crawl space will be unvented.

I've never like putting in a crawl space, but have. It needs to have adequate fresh air and the venting needs to be correct.
Is there anyway to install a gaspack? It would be a better installation and be out from under the house. Only the ductwork would be under the house.

Replacing a furnace in a crawlspace is tough too. Just know that if the furnace ever needs to be replaced, it will cost you more than a conventional installation.

tell him to put it where he want's. he will be the one doing the service. if he thinks about it he most likely won't put it down there. it can't be put upstairs?
