    I'n not an HVAC guy but I have a question:

    What exactly is that GREY PIPE COLUMN to the right of the furnace in that first picture holding up?

    I've never seen lally columns (sp) sitting on 2 x 4's on TOP of a concrete floor before. Note how they neatly supported that last inch of the bottom plate with the adjacent scrap of 2 x 4.
