    Looking For Work

Hi, I live in Ontario Canada. Well I been a Toolmaker for some time now (13years)and was looking to make a career change. So I picked up my G2 licence and cannot find anything. I am not sure exactlly what to do now or direction to take. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I live in windsor, but options are open at this point. I know I don't have any experience, but as a Toolmaker I have very strong skills in blueprint reading and I can make anything out of sheetmetal.

I also have welding experience, if I can't pick up a Hvac apprenticeship then I will be looking to get a high pressure welding licence and then upgrading my g2. One way or another I'am determind to break into this industry.

I know the place you are talking about. And I did apply, the problem is that it is a temp position and there client is having a labour disbute. Not realy what I'am looking for.

Yes, Sounds like you had to fill out the same form that they sent me....
They didnt want to tell me where the job was at, I am assuming gta but I don't know for sure..
It wouldn't bother me that there is a labour dispute going on, I have worked for both union and non union places (although not in this trade) and don't really have an opinion either way...

How did u get licensed...St.Clair, or somewhere else...?

I went to GLTT and even some of the guys in our G2 class are laid off right now.

Hey 21, I think you asked me that question before and I didn't have enough experience for you, as it was just shy of one year. I guess the "maturity" factor doesn't help as much as I thought it would when I started getting some schooling in this field. (this was a career change for me) It frustrates me when I see all these 20 somethings that really need to grow up, they seem to think they can just pick and choose what they will or won't do, instead of just doing the job!!! I guess its a good thing I am only 38 and have several good years left.
