The charge has always checked out fine.
It's true that I don't completely trust what I can't verify for myself, but that doesn't stop me from making a decision. I chose to have the compressor replaced, and it's pulling the proper amps now. It's been too warm here to see if the line set vibration is cured.
By static pressure, I guess you mean the air handler? I asked one of the NATE techs to check the pressure drop across the coil, and he said he could do that by comparing the room air temperature to the temperature of the air coming out of the nearest register. He seemed to think the temp checked out OK.

Did they check it by pressures only, or by super heat and sub cool.
Beats me!
