or is it that there is more goodman out there than say lennox, carrier, or trane.
i have personally changed out more trane compressors in one year than any other brand. however the company i worked for was putting in 200 to 300 trane systems a month. so the odds of me replacing a trance comp. vs. another brand was much haigher.
    just some food for thought.

    Compare Apples to Apples

Part for part and you get what you paid for.

Example:1) Do they use a 3.0 GE motor.
    2) do they use an ECM ventor motor.
    3) how about their boards or lack of board and controls.

I thought about taking Goodman on, but I have seen their parts house and my customers would not appreciate the wait if a problem would arrise on the other hand I will be waiting 7 to 10 days for a carrier recip compressor, that does one of our local universities server room. They say they will steer away Carrier at all cost in future, because of the way Carrier has treated them with this. I even got them to phone head office with no results.
Do it right the first time.

I didn't see Goodman specifically on that list at all. Amana was on there but it was 3rd from top.

LOL.. They'e not my Favorite brand.

    Ok.

What is the difference between a Trane 90% 2 stage VS furnace, and an American Standard 90% 2 Stage VS furnace?

Next, you don't even know if they are comparing top end to lower end lines.
Since have the people don't know the differences.

Really the difference is insignificant any way from top to bottom there's a 3% difference.

No, It does say Goodman is the worse one out there. I meant the difference is insignificant between the other brands. Goodman is much less reliable, so that could be as much as 100%.

It doesn't say that any where.

I can't find the word worse used in that survey..
Keep in mind, that the Amana Distinctions is in that survey.
    Look where Amana is rated.
The Distinction line, is a Relabeled Goodman.

    Brand Repair History: Gas furnaces
We found no statistically meaningful differences in percent of models ever repaired for the brands listed below. For 5 of the 6 years examined, Goodman furnaces were much less reliable than the listed brands. Goodman isn't listed because the sample size in 2001 was slightly too small.

That tells me that they are at the bottom of the list. Which means they are the worst.

Does that mean an Armstrong and a lennox are the exact same machine.
