local 638 wage
Does anyone know what local 638-B ,New York City , hourly scale is for
a five year journeyman?
I recall it as about 33 Dollars and hour.
We have someone looking for an H.V.A.C. job with us and they are telling me that scale is about 35 Dollars an Hour.
Unfortuneately things are very slow at my company, and I doubt they will pay that now.
The money shrinks but the work only seems to grow more.

Here is as of July 1, 2008. They probably got an increase since then. Its usually 60 cents an hour. http://wpp.labor.state.ny.us/wpp/pre...heduleType=123

He was very close.
I hope they hire this person, he seems to know his stuff.
We can use the help.
They did not lay anyone off , but people have left us.
The last tech left to go into controls and works at
a new york control company called Thomas Brown Associates
I was surprised that people would leave a union job for a non union job in controls.
Thank you

You guys need a new contract. That seems very low for NYC.
That's what they make here in Vegas, and houses here are about 75% cheaper.

any journeymen with more then 15-20 years can walk in,and demand an easy $5 to $8 over scale depending on the tonnage the company does.
