B-vent, direct vent???
We currently have a Valor Homeflame 470. We love the amount of heat it throws off but want to replace it with something more current. We have a masonry chimney. We are looking for something that will be flush with the opening. My question is, are we looking to buy a B-vent or direct vent? From what I've been able to uncover we need a B-vent model but my husband seems to think we can use either kind?
Thanks so much.

This could be a very long answer but bottom line is a direct vent is healthier and more efficient

Either or
It would depend on the size of your opening to the fire box.

Sealed combustion direct vent-period.
Keep the fire inside the fireplace.
