    I want some new drawers...

    Boxers... not briefs please

In the past I had a decent set of drawers/organizer I built. Overall I liked them pretty good, but could use some improvement.

Where I'm at now I ended up putting a Craftsman toolbox (side box actually) in the side door. I like this set up so far, it's nice to have the almost unused and delicate tools handy but safe... but I wish it held more.

A fellow coworker (across the state) has a set of these in his new van, and the week I was around them I really like em.

I highly doubt I'll be able to talk the company into buying me $1000 worth of shelves for my van... specially considering the $250 toolbox is my own. Anywho, what are some other shelving/drawer things you guys have in your vans? I'm trying to come up with some cleaver ideas.

I wish I could get my hands on a brake (still looking) so I could get back into building cool stuff for my van...

American Van has stuff like that too. Not sure of pricing.

I have the same 4 draw unit has in your picture, in my van. It cost around $720 from American Van.

With my last review, I wanted 3 dollars an hour more and the company knew it. So I told them, I would take 1.50 dollars more, but I want a new van with the back outfitted the way I wanted. They agreed and one of the items was the draw unit that you shown, from American Van.

    Thanks!
You should see what I can do when I'm not in a hurry lol

I'm probably going to be making a trip to the middle of IA this weekend to get myself a brake. Found one for a pretty good price, and it's only 9 hours away.

It's going to kinda suck to make that stuff with out a shear, but I'll get by (and don't plan on doing enough to justify a shear). But rest assured the back of my van will look much more "galvanized" after a month or 2.

i have the whole craftsman tool box in my van. the drawers face the back of the van instead of facing the side door.

its so tall you have to lift the lid on the top box and open all the drawers when you put in the van, or the latching system will keep the drawers shut and unapble to open.

so i made my own bar system to keep the drawers from sliding open and closed while driving.

i like the side box idea, i think i will get one of those too and have the whole setup in the van

    Looks nice.

Full extension slides like what are used on the American Van product are expensive... one pair of Accuride slides for a welding cart I made was over $100.

If you like the commercially available drawers, and if you have the funding, the price isn't that bad if you factor your time and similar materials. Just take them with you if employment change happens.
