    Thermopride challenged -

I had a new Thermopride Oil furnace installed about two years ago. Fairly happy with it so far except...I cannot get the cleanout plugs removed from the heat exchanger..... I weigh about 170 and with all my weight ...they wont budge.
    Whats the trick ?
    thx

    Call the installing contractor.
Have him do a clean and tune.

How many times must one fix something before it is fixed?

Call your installer. You don't want to snap anything, you'll be out of service untill they could get to you plus, a regular shop vac won't cut it.

thermopride to me makes a great oil furnace, but the cleanouts are another story. i have to stock the clean out covers and gaskets because they break almost every time.

Don't torque them to 180 ft pounds.

it's not me i worry about, it's the 285lb nucklehead that just cleaned it the other day and i get the call to go fix it. you know the guy i'm talking about. he's the one who will go through the work to get the covers off to shine a flaslight in the hx and say that's fine, it does't need vacuming.
