    Question about compressors

OK I have one of those Chinese Ice makers and it works great but the compressor is making a horrible thumping noise when its running. I am lead to believe one of the internal shock asborbers are broken inside. This machine uses R-600a

I have an old mini fridge that still cools but the door seals and the bottom side is rotted and rusted. It has R-134a in it. Is it possible to use the compressor from the mini fridge to replace the one on my Ice Machine? And which Refrigerant should I go with? R-134a or R-600a?

What time does saw the customer in the ice machine. One made in the USA. Either a Scotsman or a Manitowoc

Start with both compressor #s check btu ratings if possible. If this is for a customer scrap it sell them a new one. If it’s a basket case in your shop try it with what ever refer you have it’s already broke
