    Trans voyageR RTHM BOARD LOCKOUT

We have a 1 year old trane voyagerwith RTHM BOARD. The unit is locking out with cool fail. We checked pressures temps. All looks good when its running. We were having issue with it blowing condensor fan fuses. We replaced fan motor. It looks like it just has high prrssure, low pressure, discharge line temp. The unit is on a bas. It just has normal y1,y2 etc. I had 2 flashes on led 2 today. I reset it runs fine. Does unit go in LOCKOUT on first pressure switch trip. Does it LOCKOUT both stages if it sees high pressure on just first stage. The unit model is a ysd300g. I though about putting tattletales on. Any suggestions??

You can check the low voltage circuit at the J1 plug on the RTRM module for devices on each circuit. Check continuity through the entire circuit to see that all devices are closed. If one circuit trips the other will still run. Check the ESTOP and compressor disable on LTB. If something is opening on ESTOP then yes the entire unit will shutdown. Good luck

What are your typical outdoor ambient temps, and what is your condenser delta T?

Trane's typical lock out procedure goes like this:

It takes three trips of the safety in any one hour rolling period.
If you were a real tech, you'd solder a relay on that board and call it good to go.

To be honest today was first time I was there. I was on another call close and went to lend a hand as this has been an ongoing issue. Both stages were off reset unit and both came on. The low voltage part of PHASE monitor is on estop. I guess my thoughts are either something funky with condensor fans where it knocks both circuits off or PHASE monitor. Another tech checked pressures and said they were ok.

With the circuit boards they use nowadays, it is very likely the tattle tales won't trip, not enough current is flowing.

So, instead, you use 1/100 amp fuses. Get them online, then buy the fuse holders at your local auto store. A few months back I put them on a unit with intermittent problems and proved it was the high pressure tripping that circuit off line.

Gonna have to troubleshoot further, need more information to help. The phase monitor interrupts 24VAC to entire unit. Maybe something with the phase monitor? Don't know, need to dig a little deeper. Your issue doesn't sound like anything with condenser fans.

I went onsite again today unit running. The old unit or the other units do not have the icm power monitor control on it. This entire street has history of voltage fluctuations. I reset a wshp on a under/over voltage code at another building yesterday Input voltage was fine. I looked at info on line. It appears as the icm control will autoreset but it locks trane board out. I decided to bypass it for now. We are going to put a recorder on incoming power. We may wire it in different other than on emergency off contact. Did i do correct thing maybe maybe not. Everyone else just resets it. Time will tell.
