    Or you can go to the full blown Fluke 435 but expensive
    Or a Fluke 289 with an external clamp

    How did you come up with that? Specs say 0-300 amps and 0-500 volts, I have 3 of them and they work really well.

    Yes you will need the adapter kit, when I got mine it was a serial port adapter lol
