    The new 'New Posts' format

Once I click on a post after clicking on 'New Posts', it does not show up in New Posts.

This has happened a few times today. I'll click on a post in New Posts, read the comments and then think about it. Later I'll think of the proper response. But that post will not show up for me unless someone else has posted a post.

Experimented, then found the above to be true.

Once clicked on a new post, it will not show up in the New Posts results. Near impossible to find posts that used to be easy.

Huge forum. Please do not make it more difficult to find posts that we just clicked on.

Got the same thing on my smarty phone and my home computer.

It looks like the new way they formatted the New Posts thingy.

Might not be on purpose, but pretty unlikely it's a virus.

More likely IT doesn't understand how some of use the New Post option.

I suppose I could just start posting nonsense to threads, then look up threads I've posted to. Not the best option, in my opinion.

yep as i see it once you view a post it is no longer "new" so it goes away..

however if i use the "back" button the system my laptop or the V bulletin server doesnt see the post as read....... at least thats what im experiencing fwiw.

p.s. see the highlighted. shouldn't leave yourself open like that. ive thought of many snarky remarks for that all in good fun!

I have had a few responses to thread that were insults. I just label them as worthless and do not respond.

You know, it just occurred to me that the New Posts button is no longer the New Posts button. It needs to be re-labeled to Posts Not Viewed. Because if you click on the New Posts button, but have already viewed a post, it will not show you the new posts.

It took me a while to figure out what you were talking about back in the ARP thread because I've never used the New Posts button. I don't think the post gets deleted after you click on it but the designers figured it's no longer new any more to you so unless something is new added to the thread it will no longer show up in the New Posts. I think they do it by using your login information so I'm pretty sure it is by design.

    Yes.

The posts are deleted from the results of my query.

Which means when I click on new posts, I am not able to see all of the new posts. Only posts which I have not clicked on yet. And it's been a pain in the ass. I'll click on a post that poses a question. Then realize the answer five minutes later, and not have a clue where that post or thread is, because, the New Posts button no longer gives results showing the new posts.

I guess the designers didn't think about that problem when they were trying to get rid of posts you've already seen in the New Posts area.
If you subscribe to the thread before you leave it, then if you have problem finding it you might be able to go into your profile to find it.

I'm already subscribed to over 2,000 threads. I think. Not gonna subscribe to every thread I read.

The 'designers' are obviously not technicians that use this forum.

Agreed!!! I just subscribe to threads that I think I may have a snarky response to.

    I really like this site.

It's just that IT or admin really f#cked up.

They haven't even changed the name of the button yet.

I can no longer view new posts when clicking on the New Posts button after viewing a post.

Me too thinking...I am left out..

Right BBeerme. They are not users of this forum.

Lets use this thread as a force of protest!

Please return the New Posts function to the way it was!
