In the first picture, I see two grills on the wall beside the dryer.
So, my question is:
Is the duct, SUPPLY? RETURN AIR? or DRYER VENT?
I saw one dryer vent that was 60 feet long. The dryer wouldn't dry for some reason. Those who dance, appear insane to those who do not hear the music.

The flex is the dryer vent. Dig that custom return plenum wrapped around the flue pipe!

I don't use Bounce in my dryer...it causes the dryervent to grow like poison ivy, and run all over the laundry room...obvoiusly these people have been using it a long time.
It's truly sad to see such a verulent dryervent infestation...I'd call in an exterminator!
