couple aprilaires and a unit heater

it's very few and far between when i'm given the chance to install anything as i usually do service 99% of the time

i got the chance to work in my dad's place. i installed an aprilaire 600 and a lennox LF24. the other pictures are from an aprilaire 600A that i installed today.

it might sound stupid, but i enjoy when i have something to show for my work. it also switches things up and gives some variety.

my last company was strictly a lennox dealer, though they picked up rebranded goodmans as a second line (everest branded) about a year before i left. my new company is a lennox/carrier/york/icp/almost anything dealer.

    thanks for the comments

I like the water line and how you used the bender, instead of the trusty "hand bend" Good job!
I thinks she needs some "freeze-on"

    1" top
    0" bottom
    1" side
    18" access panel
    18" rear

my father made that "frame" around the unit to cover the brackets. he has a similar "frame" around his attic ladder.

    thanks

That humidistat looks a little close to the unit. Should it be further up stream in the return?

    Jobs look great though

they call for 6" upstream, in the picture it might look a little close but it is more than 6"

the 600A, i had to mount that one almost 12 feet away because the fresh air was right by the return drop and i had no where else to go

    thanks for the comments

Why didn't you mount it on the larger area of the return than making this frame to mount it on the small side?

You probably could have spaced them clamps more on that horizontal gas line by securing a couple on that riser...

    Looks good from here.

i mounted it on the smaller side of the return drop because the larger side is where my dad has to walk around to get to his washer/dryer and he wanted all the room he could get so he wouldn't bang into it with baskets (or better yet, his head)

    ha, thanks 2hot

Just curious, why is the humidifier adapted to the short side of the duct instead of just installing it on the larger side?

I've already asked this, and he said it would of been in the walk way going to the washer and dryer... Didn't want to bump into it.
