    ADS\NAE and Alarms

    Good-day,

Well this is another ADS\NAE question.

We have a system that contains a ADS and 4 NAE's. All the NAE's points have been setup with an Object Category of General - Default.

One of the NAE is remote off campass and they don't want to see any other alarm but theirs. I changed the user view to Custom category and only the user from that building is able to see their system. But all the other alarms are still reporting to the remote site.

The only way that I can get this to work, is change all the points to the same custom as the user view and it works.

Is this the only way to do this??

    Thanks for any input

I have never had to do this, but from what I understand the remote site is still logging into the ADS so the alarms for all NAE's will be there I dont think you can filter them out by user login, but I suppose if the remote site could have its graphic's on the NAE, you could have the remote site login to the local NAE instead of the ADS, that would show local alarms only, but may create performace issues if you graphics are large.

now i wonder..... will have to go try a few things

btw what rev is your NAE/sct if I am going to play with it I want to match your rev

Check the IP of the ADS repository in each NAE. Match the IP of the computer you want the alarm(s) to report to.

    We are at Version 2.2.

One thing which I didn't mention, all alarms from the Remote site need to report at the control office at the main campus. The main control office see's all, but the remote should only see the remote alarms.

If we add in the IP address of the remote PC instead of the ADS repository IP, then all of our trends etc are not storged in the ADS server? They use that informaiton of data collection etc.

    Thanks

No, an NAE can only report back to the ADS or another site director (NAE) what I was saying to try to do: login to the local (remote) bldg NAE, it should still have its own alarms and also report to the site director. from there you will only see information on that NAE no info from the other 3 nae's quick solution, may not be the best...

To the OP, yes you are correct that would be the only way to accomplish what you are looking to do.
