I was talking to my brother in law over Christmas, he is an engineer for a company that designs power plants. He told me that the whole country is about two years away from the price of electricity going up in price as much as four times what it costs now. Some of the up comming restrictions on the coal fired power plants are going to make refitting some of the existing plants really expensive and the construction of new coal fired plants even more impossible. The democrats want all the power to come from a source other than coal fired plants, hope they want to pay the price,

Mr. Bill says move south were our plants are natural gas powered, I just received a notice from my gas co. that the rates will be dropping at least 10% next month and will be reflected on our next months bill. Natural gas is plentiful in the US, we probably have all the natural gas here needed to power the world.

If your ever on the East side of Michigan you will see oil wells burning off huge amounts of natural gas. Cost too much to harness it.

Natural gas turbine generators are peaking plants and the bulk of the power on the grid is powered from coal plants . Even if they are not in your region you buy power from coal plants.

Power bills are annoying. Nobody really likes them, but unless one is willing to live without electricity, there's little one can do about them. It would be amazing if a house generated all of its own power and didn't have to buy electricity from the power company. There are a small, but growing, number of properties, called “net zero” houses that do just that. You need not to worry. Just check this out for more information to stay away from high electricity bills! What do you think?

There are lots of ways to get rid of or lower electricity bills. One simple method would be, buy a diesel powered generator and use bio.

One man I know built a windmill out of 55 gallon drums and big rig altenators

My father in law builds gassifiers, doesn't produce a lot of power, but it is enough to run a car.

They are building gas fired power plants around here and we are in coal country... they just completed one up in virginia...or are nearing completion and another is scheduled to be built about 30 miles from here at the site of a nuclear plant that was never finished back in the 80s.

Solar panel prices are such that many can own their source cheaper than renting.

For instance, imagine panels producing the 500 kwh per month you use cost $50 a month financed 15 years. You've just locked your electric rate at 10 cents kwh for 15 years, then $0 thereafter.

So you pay for panels with money you would have spent anyway, and once paid for the energy is free. Hard to believe.

Leasing further simplifies this comparative. Nothing to own, just a contract to buy electricity. I intend to use leasing on a rental I own.
Which makes more sense to you?
CONSERVATION - turning your thermostat back and being uncomfortable. Maybe saving 5-10%
ENERGY EFFICIENCY - leaving your thermostat where everyone is comfortable. Saving 30-70%

DO THE NUMBERS! Step on a HOMESCALE.
What is comfort? Well, it AIN'T just TEMPERATURE!

Energy Obese? An audit is the next step - go to BPI.org, or RESNET, and find an auditor near you.
