    Honestly, mixed emotions...
Star Wars is very trendy... and as such there is a definite 'millenial' influence on the recent movies... which is just not right!
All one has to do is compare Darth Vader to Kyle Ren... and one sees a horrible reality of wimpy millenialism. Even in the movies... that is not acceptable!

All in all, about half way through... it started to have its magic... however the first 3 (now called #4,5,6) and Rogue One, are by far the better movies!

I smell a new-agey one world govt idealism coming in the final movie... hope they figure out that is not gonna fly.

Hollywood is trying too hard to project their politics through the silver screen...
BAD idea if they want to make big bucks.. folks do not like that!
My oldest daughter is a major SW freak. I asked her how she liked the movie? She said she really liked it but I shouldn't expect anything like Rogue One. I knew then that it would be a crap shoot if I liked the movie or not. I still haven't seen it yet and after seeing the reviews, I am not in a rush to see it.

I understand someone 'else' directed this one (guy named Johnson)...
J J Abrams is supposed to direct #9... lets hope he understands.

IMO... #9, being the last of the series...
Needs to blow all of them out of the water!
IMO... if they concentrate on topping Rogue One...
They will have a winner finale!

    OTOH...
I fully expect more 'stories' to come along... fill in's between this and that...

So I watched "The Last Jedi" on my Firestick the other day. To be brutally honest, I am sorry I watched it. It was truly that bad. Every male in the movie was emasculated; that includes Kylo Ren. Snoke was defeated was too easily. They turned Luke Skywalker into some kind of crazy, cat-lady, recluse that is nothing more than an idiot. Every female in the movie is some kind of super bad-ass.

One scene is particularly stupid. The resistance has bombers attacking the empire and it makes you think that there is gravity in space!! Bombers hovering over other spaceships, then bomb bay doors open and "drop" their payload onto the ships "below" them. Pathetic IMHO

Sadly... when a movie is aimed at the 20-somethings in our current society...

Using accurate science would probably be over their heads... and they would lose interest.

And yeah... this whole series (7-8-(?)9... seems to be aimed at emasculating men and promoting women...
Given the movie is mostly from professionals in the SanFran area... not surprising...
That area is hip on the most far out (and destructive) trends in the country.

Why are audiences breaking into applause after the new Churchill film?

    Vacuum Technology:
CRUD = Contamination Resulting in Undesirable Deposits.
CRAPP = Contamination Resulting in Additional Partial Pressure.

Change your vacuum pump oil now.

    Test. Testing, 1,2,3.

IMO... because it made the audience feel good...
And once one audience applauds... and the word gets out on social media...
Everyone else will do it... just to be part of the crowd...

    IMO the results will be...
Folks will accept the details in the movie as historical fact...
When in reality we know Hollywood RARELY is historically accurate!

I recently watched 3 Billboards Outside Ebbing, MO. The wife and I both enjoyed the movie. Woody Harrelson is really good in his role as is Frances McDormand. Please be aware that there is a lot of profanity in the movie, to include a generous amount of the F-word. However, if that doesn't offend you enough to not watch it, the movie is quite good. It is supposed to be a "dark comedy" and I can agree with that description but it touches on other genres as well. Be prepared for a unconventional plot twist and ending!
